The Leiter-R is a totally nonverbal test of intelligence and cognitive abilities. It is easily administered and quickly and objectively scored. Its game-like administration holds a child's interest.
The Leiter-R consists of two nationally standardized batteries: a revision of the original Visualization and Reasoning (VR) domains for measuring IQ and the new Attention and Memory (AM) domains. Both batteries include unique growth scores that measure small but important improvement in children with significant cognitive disabilities.
Because the Leiter-R is nonverbal, it is especially suitable for children and adolescents that are cognitively delayed; autistic; disadvantaged; nonverbal, non-English speaking, or ESL; or speech-, hearing- or motor-impaired; or have ADHD or TBI. And because the Leiter-R measures fluid intelligence, which does not change significantly in the adult years, it can be used effectively with older subjects.
